How We Got Here
Our story started in San Francisco, where two people who had each lived across multiple states (and one of us abroad) discovered something special: a shared obsession with adventure, culture, and really good food. That first conversation about the best pizza we’d ever had turned into late-night planning sessions for our next trip, which turned into this—a life spent chasing authentic experiences around the world.
Now based in Washington, DC, we spend our weekends planning our next escape and our weeknights researching the best trattoria in Naples or the perfect beach-side grill in Curaçao and sharing our knowledge with you as food travel bloggers. We’re the friends who show up to dinner with a annotated list of restaurants we need to try on our upcoming trip (yes, really).
Why Food?
Here’s what we’ve learned from years of travel: you can visit the Colosseum and snap the obligatory photos, but you won’t really understand Rome until you’ve sat at a local osteria, watched the nonna hand-roll pasta in the back, and tasted cacio e pepe the way it’s meant to be made.
Food tells the story of a place—its history, its people, its soul. It’s the fastest way to go from tourist to temporary local. When you’re eating what locals eat, in the places they actually go, you’re not just checking off a bucket list. You’re experiencing culture in its most honest, delicious form.
Our Approach
We’re researchers at heart (some might say obsessive planners). Before any trip, we dig deep—reading food blogs written by locals, stalking Instagram geotags, joining neighborhood Facebook groups, and yes, spending hours on Google Maps satellite view to find that hidden gem everyone’s grandmother swears by.
But we’re not just about the Michelin-starred spots. We’re equally excited about the family-run pizzeria that doesn’t have a website, the fish shack locals line up at every Sunday, and the market vendor who makes the best arancini you’ve ever tasted. We seek out the authentic, the unexpected, and the unforgettable.
